Documents required
- Passport valid for 6+ months with at least 1 blank page

- Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) for the whole stay
- Proof of funds — around THB 20,000 per person / THB 40,000 per family (cash or bank statement)
- One recent passport-size photograph (4x6 cm)
- Completed Thailand arrival card (TM.6), usually filled digitally before arrival
Step-by-step: how to apply
- 1
Complete Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
Fill the online arrival card before your flight — most Thai airports now require this instead of a paper TM.6.
- 2
Fly to Thailand
Board your flight with all required documents printed or saved on your phone.
- 3
Head to the Visa on Arrival counter
At the airport, follow signs to the VOA counter (separate from immigration for visa-exempt nationalities).
- 4
Submit your documents and photo
Hand over your passport, photo, return ticket, hotel proof and proof of funds.
- 5
Pay the VOA fee
Pay in Thai Baht cash at the counter; card payment is not always accepted.
- 6
Collect your passport with the visa sticker
Wait for your number to be called, then proceed to immigration for entry stamping.
Good to know
- • VOA is only available at a limited list of international airports and select land checkpoints — check before planning a land entry.
- • Overstaying attracts a daily fine, so keep track of your permitted exit date.
- • Some periods have seen visa-exemption pilots for Indian nationals — always check current policy before applying for VOA, since exemption removes the need for VOA altogether.
