What each offer says
Akasa Air's senior citizen fare gives a flat 5% off the base fare on Saver fares for Indian resident travellers aged 60 and above, on direct domestic flights; ID with date of birth is required at check-in and seats are limited. EaseMyTrip's EMTSENIOR coupon lists up to ₹5,000 off domestic or international flights for travellers aged 60 and above, per passenger per sector, with an end date of 30 November 2026 on its listing. IRCTC Air and SastaSafar list senior citizen fare categories; their exact terms are shown on their own sites.
A 5% discount on the base fare is modest, because taxes and fees are not discounted. A fixed-rupee coupon may be worth more on a short route; a percentage fare can be worth more on a longer one. Compare both on the same flight.
Booking for parents
Many senior citizen bookings are made by children for their parents. The traveller's age is what qualifies for the senior fare; the payment card is separate. That means you can often pair a senior fare with a card offer on the payer's card — but on many booking sites the senior coupon and a bank code compete for the same promo-code slot, so test both. - Carry the original ID used for the senior fare; a photocopy may not be accepted.

Percentage fare or fixed-rupee coupon?
The two main senior offers work differently. Akasa's fare is a percentage of the base fare on Saver fares, so it scales with the price of the ticket but does not touch taxes and fees. EaseMyTrip's coupon is a rupee amount "up to" a maximum, per passenger per sector, with the exact amount set by the site's terms for your booking. The only way to compare them for a given trip is to price the same flight both ways: the Akasa senior fare on Akasa's website, and the same Akasa flight on EaseMyTrip with the coupon applied. Where the trip is on another airline, only the site coupon and the specialist fare categories are relevant.
For a couple travelling together where only one partner is above the age limit, the senior fare or coupon applies only to that passenger. Check whether the booking site lets you mix passenger types on one booking before you commit.
When a senior fare is not the best option
Special fares can carry fewer seats and stricter conditions. If a sale or a bank offer gives a lower payable amount on an ordinary fare, it can be the better choice — especially when the ordinary fare type includes more flexibility. Compare final amounts and change rules, not only the discount line.
